Frankie's Furry Friends: Today's Featured Pet is Bart

By Frankie Michelle Dennison on October 08, 2018 from Frankie's Furry Friends

This is the first of a daily feature from the Humane Society of Harrison County highlighting adoptable pets. Today’s featured pet is Bart, a two-year-old Corgi mix who is still looking for his forever home.

Bart is up to date on shots and wormer and has been neutered. He is house trained, friendly, loves to play, and wants a lot of attention. Bart is dog-friendly, but he can be dog dominant. He will need an owner with prior Corgi experience. Here are a list of corgi traits and needs:
  • Providing enough mental stimulation that gives him something productive to do
  • Destructiveness when bored or left alone too much
  • Territorial aggression toward dogs and cats he doesn't know
  • Strong-willed mind of his own, requiring a confident owner who can take charge
  • Chasing and nipping at things that move
  • Lots of barking
If you're interested in Bart and would like to meet him, you can call or stop by for a meet and greet.

The Humane Society of Harrison County is located at 2450 Saltwell Road in Shinnston. The facility is open 10:30 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. every day of the week. Call the HSHC at 304-592-1600.
