Time Travel: Locals in Music Business from 2005 and a Downtown Clarksburg 1933 Hotspot for Movies

By Dick Duez on June 06, 2021 from History Blog

Some of these young men look familiar? You may know them today, but this is a look back to them in 2005 as part of Act 3 DJ Service. Shown, from left, are David Dieringer, Ryan Tolley, Christian Marsh, and Nat Frederick.
Anyone remember The Ritz is downtown Clarksburg? It was one of several places to see movies in the downtown and this photo, courtesy of the Harrison County Historical Society, is from 1933. The movie is Footlight Parade and, as you can see, stars James Cagney.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dickdo@citynet.net.
