Area Police Find Body of Female in Wooded Location

According to WDTV, a body was found in the woods in Fairmont last Monday, June 3.
30-year-old Courtney Martin’s body was found near an apartment complex off Oakwood Road, according to the Fairmont Police Department.
Police responded to the wooded area at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday evening and found Martin’s body lying motionless near a creek bed, according to a press release.
A coroner pronounced Martin dead on scene and noted that she had obviously been there for some days. Police said she had been dead approximately a week prior to finding the body and that there were no obvious signs of bodily trauma at the scene or in the preliminary autopsy findings.
Police said they will continue their investigation, which includes interviewing known associates, evaluating digital forensic evidence and awaiting a full autopsy report with toxicology findings.
