BHS Alumni & Friends Foundation Strawberry Sale is Set for 2025

At their first meeting of 2025, board members of the Bridgeport High School Alumni & Friends Foundation decided unanimously to hold the organization’s annual Strawberry Sale.
Pre-orders will be taken for whole and half flats of berries, prices to be determined. The pickup will be held on Friday, May 9, at the Bridgeport Veterans Memorial along East Main Street.
The berries will again be ordered through Goots Produce and come from the Carolinas.
The sale has traditionally been the foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year. It was board member and former BHS journalism teacher Alice Rowe who suggested the sale several years ago and it has been embraced by the community. The sale was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, but returned in 2023.
With fundraisers and personal donations, more than $60,000 in college scholarships are awarded by BHS Alumni & Friends Foundation to BHS seniors each year.
Order forms will be available in the coming weeks and can be obtained through any board member.
