The Halloween décor outside the Benedum Civic Center might just include one of your own creations. And your seasonal craftmanship could earn you a prize.
Bridgeport Parks and Recreation is hosting a Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest, open to those of all ages.
“Bring your carved pumpkin - along with a completed entry form – to the Civic Center between Oct. 24 and Oct. 27,” said Parks and Recreation Coordinator Amy Callahan. “Voting will take place between 6-7 pm. On Oct. 27 by the participants of the Scarecrow Trick-or-Treat on Main Street.”
Prizes will be awarded in various divisions. All jack-o-lanterns will be lit and displayed outside the Civic Center through Oct. 31.
There is no fee to enter, and it is hoped that many community members will participate.
