DHHR Reports 491 New COVID Cases; Harrison County's Active Cases at 79; State Deaths at 6,893

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this morning (Friday, May 13) the total number of  COVID-19 cases has increased to 505,528 with an increase of 491 new cases since the last update.
 
Friday's report shows the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is 8.10 percent. The daily percent positive is at 7.94 percent (daily tests/confirmatory test results).
 
According to the DHHR website, Harrison County's numbers are at 20,062 (13,742 confirmed and 6,320 probable). Harrison County's active cases are at 79, there have been 19,730 recoveries and 253 deaths.
 
Please note that delays may be experienced with the reporting of information from the local health department to DHHR. As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested. 
 
The state's cumulative number of COVID-releated deaths is at 6,893 and there were zero reported deaths during the previous 24 hours.
 
There are 1,658 active cases and there have been 496,977 recoveries.
 
According to the DHHR site, as of May 12, there are 119 hospitalizations with 25 patients in ICUs and 11 on ventilators.
