Edge of Town Farm Market Corn Maze is Ready for Fall Season

By Julie Perine on September 08, 2024

The Edge of Town Farm Market introduced a corn maze a few years ago; the idea of owner Jason Poth. And there’s more where that came from.

For 2024, the attraction will feature two mazes – one smaller and geared for young kids – and the original four-acre maze.

Covering about an acre and a half, the new maze is located just behind the store. It was added so that people with small children could access it easily and still have a fun, challenging experience.

Visitors can make their way through either or both, enjoy a hayride, pick out a pumpkin and on some nights, enjoy some special events.

“We’ll be combining a haunted maze and glow-in-the-dark maze on Friday and Saturday nights,” Poth said. “The tractor will also run on weekends, but folks can visit the corn mazes Wednesday through Sunday.”

It all starts Sept. 14. The maze will be open 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday with the haunted/glow maze open from dark to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

There will be a pumpkin patch full of various varieties, but this year they weren’t grown on site.

“Our pumpkins blossomed, but never grew. It was just too dry this summer,” Poth said.

School classes, scouts and church groups are invited to make reservations for a group experience. The farm will also host kids’ games and have an ice cream truck on site. Other snacks, food and drinks will be available for purchase inside the store.

The store regularly carries local produce – corn, beans, tomatoes, peppers, melons and more – as well as local honey, Amish butter and eggs, locally-raised beef and pork, milk and more. Prepared foods are for sale from the in-house kitchen, among the favorite items the fried green tomato sandwich. Catering services are also available.

The Edge of Town Farm Market is located at 1165 Anmoore Road (Route 58) between Bridgeport and Anmoore, just next to U-Haul Moving & Storage. For more information, call 304-669-0569.
