Recent Area School Threat Rumor is in Another State

According to WDTV, on Monday September 9, 2024, Marion County Sheriff’s Office posted to their Facebook page that they had received a complaint of a threat made to “Marion County High School.”
During further investigation, officials learned of an event in Marion County, Kentucky.
The post went on to say “The incident which occurred in Kentucky was investigated by the Kentucky State Police. The result of this investigation was the arrest of the suspect who made the threats. We have made contact with Kentucky State Police. We learned that the SnapChat photograph which has made its way to our county was in fact the same photograph which prompted the investigation and arrest made by Kentucky State Police. The threats made by this photograph were directed at a Marion County, KY high school.”
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office in West Virginia has determined, after investigation, that the threats did not pertain to any schools in Marion County, WV.
