Class AAA No. 3 Indians Rally for 13-12 Victory Against No. 6 Eagles; Bridgeport Improves to 15-5

Class AAA No. 2 Bridgeport overcame a four-run deficit in the sixth inning to down Class AAA No. 6 Robert C. Byrd, 13-12, on Thursday.
With the win, the Indians improved to 15-5, while the Eagles fell to 12-6.
Down 12-8 with two outs in the top of the sixth, Luke Rohrig crushed a three-run triple to get the Indians within one. Rohrig then scored on Kasen Baun’s single to tie it at 12.
In the top of the seventh, Owen Sondericker doubled and later scored the game-winning run on Guy Avolio’s RBI groundout, making it 13-12.
Sondericker, Baun and Jack Gould had two hits apiece to head the Indians. Baun and Sondericker each drove in two runs as did winning pitcher Jacob Stavrakis.
Coming out of the bullpen, Stavrakis allowed one hit over three innings with six strikeouts.
James Barnett, Xavier Carvelli and JD Ford each had two hits for the Eagles who put up nine runs in the fifth.
On Wednesday, BHS defeated University 11-4.
Stavarkis went 2-for-3, including a double, and drove in three runs. Kasen Baun also had a double among his two hits. Sam Goodwin finished with a pair of hits. Michael Romano and Luke Rohrig each drove in two runs.
Avolio picked up the win, throwing 4 2-3 innings of relief with three strikeouts.
Bridgeport will return action on Monday with a home game against Liberty.
