Tribe Climbs Three Spots to No.8 in WVSSAC Class AAA High School Football Ratings

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 20, 2022

In the latest WVSSAC high school football ratings, Bridgeport has climbed to No. 8 in Class AAA.

The ratings are used to determine the postseason field at the end of the regular season with the Top 16 in each of the three classes qualifying for the first-round of the playoffs.

The Indians (3-1) were tied for No. 11 in the initial batch of ratings released last week and climbed three spots following a 24-21 victory against Fairmont Senior. Bridgeport returns to action on Friday with a home game against Robert C. Byrd.

Parkersburg South (4-0) is No. 1 in Class AAA and is Bridgeport’s opponent next week.

In Class AA, the Polar Bears (3-1) fell from No. 1 to No. 7. However, a Big 10 Conference team remains in the top spot as North Marion (4-0) is the new No. 1 rated team. Also, Lincoln (2-1) is No. 13 in Class AA.

Wheeling Central (4-0) is No. 1 in Class A.

The complete list or ratings for all three classes can be viewed HERE
