The Battle Against Cystic Fibrosis returns for the 22nd annual Ohio Vs. West Virginia Basketball Classic scheduled for Friday at Parkersburg South High School.
The girls game is slated to tip at 5:30 p.m. with the boys following at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The boys game will have a Bridgeport feel to it with Dave Marshall serving as the West Virginia boys coach and three of his players – Phoenix Sickles, Landon Sanders and Jack Spatafore on the roster.
Warren Local’s Blane Maddox will coach the Ohio boys.
“Events like these are always a lot of fun and of course it is for a great cause,” Marshall said. “I’m excited to have three of my guys going with me.
“I’ve told them we are going to have fun. All that stuff I say about defense, well it’s out the window for this one. Let’s go play some offense.”
Nitro’s Pat Jones will be the West Virginia girls coach and the Ohio girls will be coached by Fairland’s Jon Buchanan.
The boys slam dunk contest will be at halftime of the girls game and a girls 3-point shootout will be at halftime of the boys game.
Joining the BHS trio on the West Virginia roster are Tyler Consolidated's Brady Strode, Parkersburg Catholic's Landon Edwards, Parkersburg's Isaac Dailey, Parkersburg's Nate Rodriguez, Wahama's Eli Rickard, Parkersburg South's Mason Nutter, Parkersburg South's Navi Hewitt, Cabell Midland's Ethan Blackburn and St. Marys' Ryan Kent.
