A new 109 Suite hotel will be breaking ground in Bridgeport early next year, according to a local developer. Earlier today, Executive Director of Development for Charles Pointe Mark Dellana with Genesis Partners – the site developers – announced that a 109 Suite Homewood Suites Hotel by Hilton will break ground in spring 2014.
Dellana said Centurion Companies of Morgantown confirmed the franchise would be coming to Bridgeport. He also confirmed the land acquisition has also already been made and the hotel, which is planned to open by the spring 0f 2015, will be developed by The Centurion Development Group and will be operated by Centurion Hospitality Services.
“The Homewood Suites are an upscale, all suite extended stay hotel,” said Dr. John Miller, the CEO of Centurion Companies.
The hotel, which Miller said is a $16 million investment, will be located just off of State Route 279. Genesis Partners Managing Member Jamie Corton confirmed that it will be situated in the area near the Fairmont Federal Credit Union building.
“I think it’s great for us and the community. It will allow for the business traveler to have a great place to stay, it will help provide additional places to stay for those visiting Bridgeport and utilizing the (Bridgeport) Recreation Complex and it adds to the units available for those needing a place to stay for any particular reason,” Corton said.
Corton said this will be a major investment in Charles Pointe, as well as the entire Bridgeport community. He added that it’s a multi-million dollar project.
“This helps to meet an existing need, but there’s room for more. There will be more announcements in the future as it relates to new projects, including new retail, restaurants and other businesses,” Corton said.
Miller pointed out that the hotel will have the following amenities:
- Studio, one bedroom and two bedroom suites
- Complete kitchens in every suite
- Meeting Rooms
- Business Center
- Free Wi-Fi
- Complementary weeknight dinner and legal beverages
- Complementary daily hot breakfast
- Limited concierge service
- Indoor pool and spa
- Indoor and outdoor fitness and recreational facilities
- Hilton Honors loyalty program
- Patio and front porch for guest socializing and relaxation
The hotel that is being designed will be differentiated by five distinct living and socializing areas. The areas include the arrival area, the lodge, guest suites, pool and spa and the outdoor space.
The Arrival Area greet arriving guests with a porte-cochere, a front porch with rocking chairs, the lobby with a floor to ceiling stone in fireplace, business offices for guest use, the guest services area, and a convenience shop.
The Lodge connects the Arrival Area and the Outdoor Spaces. The Lodge will contain both indoor and outdoor dining, lounge and an outdoor kitchen which is designed to bring the inside out and the outside in. The patio is under a pergola has is seating and tables with the space anchored by the built in stainless steel grills and cooking island. These areas offer a welcoming environment for both work and play, Miller said.
Dellana is pleased to have Miller join the Charles Pointe community.
“In a growing market it is certainly positive to continue seeing West Virginians invest at Charles Pointe. Dr. Miller brings international brand strength with ‘Hilton’ and successful local ownership in his hospitality related companies,” Dellana said.
Genesis Partners describe Charles Pointe as a 1,700 acre mixed use, master planned “smart growth” development integrating residential, retail, hospitality, and office use with exceptional amenities including parks, trails, and an abundance of open space. It is accessed off of Interstate 79 at the Jerry Dove Drive exit.
