Jeff, there is another Bridgeport Connection to the Chestnut Street Burger Chef location. The site is the location of my grandparent's home and our family leased the property to the O'Maras. There were only the two Burger Chefs in Harrison County. Like Pat, I graduated from BHS, a couple of years before he did, and also grew up around the business. In the 1980s, I had a restaurant there called The Peppertree. We later sold the property to the optometrist. My grandfather had purchased the church on the corner of Main and Chestnut, when the congregation wanted to build a new church, and moved it caddy-corner back to the lot behind their home, where the Burger Chef was built many years later. It was a HUGE pre-Civil War church, which he converted into a 9-unit apartment building called the Central Apartments.
