Area First Responders Handle Wreck with Entrapment

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on December 15, 2025

Prior to the arrival of this weekend’s winter storm, first responders were called to the scene on an accident Saturday morning in Marion County.

At 8:55 a.m., the Valley Volunteer Fire Department was alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment. The accident took place off Coalbank Hill Road.

Boothsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Monongah Fire Department also responded to the incident once entrapment was called in.

The accident involved one vehicle. Boothsville was the first to arrive on the scene. Fire staff found one person inside the vehicle. The individual was described as “conscious and alert,” and reportedly the vehicle had struck a tree.

Fire personnel stabilized the vehicle. After that, the windshield was removed to allow the driver to exit the vehicle who was assessed by the Marion County Rescue Squad.

Along with fire personnel, the West Virginia State Police, the Marion County Sheriff's Department, and the Whitehall Police Department were on the scene. Waterfront Towing removed the vehicle from the scene.
