Braves Softball Squad Ready to Start 2021 Season

Thirteen months ago, the BMS Lady Braves had their 2020 middle school softball season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The calendar has turned to 2021, the sky is blue, the grass is green, and softball is ready to return to the scene.
On March 22, the Lady Braves started their softball tryouts and practices. Since then, the team has been working hard in preparation for their first game of the 2021 season. On Tuesday, April 13, the Lady Braves will travel to Grafton to take on Taylor County Middle School. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
The first week of the season is very busy for BMS. After the season opener, the Lady Braves open their home season against the Mountaineer Lady Mountain Lions at 5 p.m.on Wednesday, April 14. The first week concludes with an away game versus Washington Irving Middle School on Friday, April 16, at 5 p.m.
The 2021 members of the Lady Braves softball team are eighth graders Kyleigh Anderson, Natalie Bartlett, Kylie Brooks, Addie Gregory, Sadie Hamrick, Brittany Kennedy, Renzy Pethtel, and Danika Prescott; seventh graders Alyson Clifton, Kyra Shafer, Bryleigh Sheppard, Brie Stoneking, and Addison Viegel; and sixth graders Rowan Burnheimer, Olivia Corder, Addyson Edwards, Georgia Faith Mathews, Mahaylee Messenger, Addison Minnix, and Annie Smith.
Returning for his third season as the Lady Braves assistant softball coach is Sonny Pethtel. The head coach of the Lady Braves is Billy Estok.
