City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on August 17, 2014 from City Faces

Bridgeport is booming with business.  I recently had the fortune of meeting a hard-working Bridgeport business owner. Please take a moment to meet my friend Allison Clem.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Allison lives in Weston.  She has worked in Bridgeport for just over a year and a half.

Where are you originally from? Danville, West Virginia (Boone County) is where Allison spent her younger years.  She graduated from Scott High School.

Are you married? Yes, to Andy Clem. They were married in Charleston, South Carolina in 2002. Andy is a re-entry coordinator at FCI Gilmer, a federal prison in Glenville.

Children? Allison and Andy have two children, Jonah,10, and Norah, six.  Jonah likes to play baseball and the violin. Norah likes gymnastics and dance class.  They attend St. Patrick’s in Weston.

What is your favorite color? Yellow

Where do you work? Allison is the owner of Riversong Spa on Main Street in Bridgeport.

Favorite Bridgeport spot? Provence Market is where Allison likes to sneak away for a fresh, healthy meal.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Allison enjoys going to her Mamaw’s house in Hamlin.  The house holds many dear memories and its always welcoming.

Favorite place outside of WV? Cambridge, Maryland hands down is her favorite.  She loves the ocean feel but it’s on the Chesapeake Bay.  Bald eagles, beautiful nature, delicious and fresh seafood are just a few of the reasons it’s her favorite.

Favorite musical group? Mumford and Sons, After the Storm is her favorite song.

Pets? Three dogs – Samford is a mixed breed hound that’s thirteen and a half years old.  Bella and Lucy are Miniature Schnauzers.

Hobbies? Spending time with her family is how she spends most of her time when she is not working. Reading, especially mysteries and personal growth and development books, is her other hobby.

Interesting fact about you? Allison loves being with friends and family but she is an introvert.

A nice story but how does it relate to the title of the column? City faces in different places to me means original Bridgeport era who are known but now live outside Bridgeport. Like, Gary Wolverton 1976 BHS graduate who while working for Texas Instruments, invented the DLP system of HE TVs. Jus a thought.
