City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on August 24, 2014 from City Faces

My son Michael has been a part of Bridgeport Track and Field since middle school.  It's an amazing family to be a part of in many ways. We've met so many wonderful kids and their families through the years.  Katy Weber is no exception.  Katy recently joined the Bridgeport High School Cross Country team.  She is shot and discus thrower on the BHS Track and Field team.  Yesterday, she ran her very first 5K. She is an inspiration and a very nice young lady.  Please take a moment to get to know my friend Katy.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Katy has lived in Bridgeport almost her whole life.

Where are you originally from?  Katy lived in Bridgeport when she was born, moved to Clarksburg for two years when she was six and then back to Bridgeport when she was eight.

Family? Katy is the daughter of Pat Weber and Lori Audia. Katy’s sister is Ashley Weber.  Elizabeth Meade is her step-mother, Sebastian and Emily Meade are her step-siblings.

What is your favorite color? Mint green

Where do you go to school? Katy is a Senior at BHS.  She is a member of the BHS Cross Country and BHS Track and Field teams.

Favorite Bridgeport spot? Shopping at the Country Peddler is a favorite for Katy.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? On weekends, Katy’s family likes to go to Bruceton Mills.  They have a cabin where they like to stay and enjoy the outdoors as a family.

Favorite place outside of WV? Myrtle Beach is Katy’s favorite place outside of our great state.  She enjoys the beach because it’s a calm and relaxing setting.  She likes the fresh seafood and having fun with so much to do and see at the beach.

Favorite restaurant? Mia Margherita

Favorite musical group? Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody is her favorite song.

Pets? Mo, a yellow Labrador Retriever; Murray, a Tibetan Terrier; Molly, a Labradoodle and Annabelle the cat.

Hobbies?  Katy likes to ride four wheelers.

Interesting fact about you? Katy joined the BHS Cross Country team this season to get in shape and try something new.  She ran her first ever 5K yesterday.  St. Mary’s hosted the Autumn Classic.  BHS Girls won the meet out of 22 schools.  Katy completed the race with a time of 47:32.9.  She’d like to compete in a charity 5K after the season is over and help others.
