I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Did you get your holiday shopping done? My sister-in-law, Sheri, and I had fun shopping for holiday gifts on Small Business Saturday in Bridgeport. Denine Rhoades is a small business owner in Bridgeport. Please take a moment to meet my friend Denine.
How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Denine and her family moved to Bridgeport in the summer of 1982. She is a BHS 1984 graduate and she obtained her degree in Interior Design from WVU in 1989.
Where are you originally from? Denine lived in West Union as a child and was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Clarksburg. Her family moved to Allentown, PA when she was in kindergarten.
Children? Whitney, 23, is a CCU nurse at Ruby Memorial; Brent, 19, is a sophomore at WVU majoring in Business.
What is your favorite color? Blue
Where do you work? Owner of the Country Peddler
Favorite Bridgeport spot? Denine loves being at home in Bridgeport. She feels like her property is a retreat.
Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Coopers Rock for its scenery.
Favorite place outside of WV? Key West is her favorite getaway outside of West Virginia. Denine appreciates the laid back atmosphere. She feels it has the Caribbean vibe without having to leave the country.
Favorite restaurant? The Wonder Bar and Provence Market
Best childhood memory? She grew up on a farm in West Union and has fond memories of the farm.
Favorite musical group? Kenny Chesney, Island Boy is her favorite song.
Pets? Two Cocker Spaniels, Bailee and Brody and a Chocolate Lab Maverick
Hobbies? Reading, walking and traveling – Denine has been to almost all of the Caribbean islands.
Interesting fact about you? She was in the movie No Drums, No Bugles with Martin Sheen when she was five.
