City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on December 07, 2014 from City Faces

Many people from Bridgeport go on to live successful lives in and out of Bridgeport.  This week, I had the opportunity to talk to Curtis Fleming and who has reached success beyond Bridgeport's borders but chooses to raise his family in Bridgeport.  Please take a moment to meet my friend Curtis.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Curtis lived in Bridgeport until he was 25.  He moved to Winchester, Virginia in 1991.  He recently moved back to Bridgeport with his family in September of this year.  Curtis is a 1984 graduate of BHS.  He obtained his B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Marketing from Fairmont State University in 1990.

Are you married? Yes, to Michelle Fleming.  Curtis and Michelle have been married 23 years.  They were married at Evangel Baptist Church in Bridgeport.  Michelle is a 1986 graduate of Phillip Barbour High School.

Children?  Two daughters – Autumn, 16, is a junior at BHS.  She loves to play volleyball and fly fish.  Laken, 19, is a sophomore at WVU studying exercise physiology and plans to go to med school.

What is your favorite color? Red

Where do you work? Curtis is the owner of Fly Rod Chronicles.  You can catch his show on the Outdoor Channel.  For more information, click HERE.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  Deegan Lake.  This is where Curtis’ love of fishing began.  He and his friends would meet and fish as often as possible at the lake.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Harman’s Cabin in Cabins, WV is where Curtis enjoys fly fishing and getting away for a vacation.  Harman’s Cabins is a 75 year old family owned business.  He feels like this business truly exemplifies the state of West Virginia and showcases the state’s scenic beauty.

Favorite place outside of WV?  Home is where Curtis is most happy.  He loves to be in Bridgeport.  He has traveled the world and always feels best when he is at home in Bridgeport with his family.

Favorite restaurant? Curtis enjoys the Wonder Bar, Twin Oaks and T&L Hotdogs.

Best childhood memory?  The three years of junior high hold fond memories for Curtis.  It was during these years he and his friends got into the great outdoors.  He also enjoyed playing sports.

Favorite musical group?  Curtis enjoys most music, especially country music.  His favorite song is Country Roads by John Denver.

Pets? A Cockapoo named Angel

Hobbies? Fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, hunting and boating are a few that he most enjoys.

Interesting fact about you?  Curtis does not eat fish.
