City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on April 19, 2015 from City Faces

City Faces in Different Places is sponsored by Bridgeport Annuity Exchange.

Family life key priority for this week's City Face.  Please take a moment to meet my friend Tammy Ferrell.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Tammy has lived in Bridgeport since she was five.  She graduated BHS in 1983 and WVU in 1987 with an elementary education degree.  She enjoyed playing in the band during her BHS years.

Where are you originally from?  Tammy was born in North Dakota, while her dad was stationed there in the Air Force.  Both of her parents are from West Virginia.

Are you married? Yes, to Dan Ferrell. Dan is a 1983 graduate of Mt. Storm High School in Union, WV and 1988 WVU graduate. They were married at Duff Street Methodist Church in Clarksburg on July 23, 1988.

Children?   Two daughters – Lauren is a sophomore at WVU studying business management; Caroline is a sophomore at BHS.  She runs Cross Country, Track and is in Jazz Band.

What is your favorite color? Red

Where do you work?  Tammy is a substitute teacher in Harrison County.

Favorite Bridgeport spot?  Tammy loves the comforts of her home.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Canaan Valley is her favorite.  She loves the peace and quiet and the beauty in the fall.

Favorite place outside of WV?  New York City because of its atmosphere and change of pace.

Favorite restaurant?  Wonder Bar

Best childhood memory?  Tammy remembers her school years fondly.  She attended Simpson Elementary School, Bridgeport Junior High (now Heritage Christian School) and BHS.  She had nice teachers, learned a lot and made good friends.

Favorite musical group?   70s and 80s music and she often listens to the Message on XM channel 63.

Pets?  A cat named Yolanda.

Hobbies?  Tammy enjoys cooking, baking and doing things with her family.

Interesting fact about you?   Getting up at 4:30 am is a favorite past time for Tammy.  She cherishes the quiet time as a time to read and reflect with a good cup of coffee.
