City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on April 26, 2015 from City Faces

City Faces in Different Places is sponsored by Bridgeport Annuity Exchange

Living and working in the same community is always a nice benefit.  Jill Steele has recently been able to fulfill this dream.  Please take a moment to meet my friend Jill Steele.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Ten years, since 2005

Where are you originally from? Good Hope, West Virginia.  Jill is a 1979 graduate of South Harrison High School.  She graduated in 1990 from Davis and Elkins College with her Elementary Education degree as a non-traditional student. Later, she received her Master’s in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Instructional Communication from Salem International University in 2010.

Are you married? Yes, to Tom Steele.  They were married in 2007 in Las Vegas.  Tom is a 1981 BHS graduate and the owner and co-partner of Steele Law.

Children?  Jill and Tom are blessed with four children – Megan, 34, is a buyer/purchaser for retail in Dustin, Florida and has a daughter, Everly,5; Rocco,29, is an Air Force officer and works as a hospital administrator in Oklahoma, his children are Ian,7, and Natalie,6; Caitlin, 24, works in marketing in Houston, Texas and Courtney, 24, is a registered dietician in Richmond, Virginia.

What is your favorite color? Purple

Where do you work? In the fall of this year, Jill will be the new principal at Simpson Elementary School.

Favorite Bridgeport spot? City Park is her favorite place to go on walks with her husband and to visit with friends.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Her parents front porch in Good Hope

Favorite place outside of WV?  Destin, Florida is her favorite because of its emerald shores and breathtaking scenery.  Destin looks like a painting and provides for a very restorative visit and vacation for Jill.

Favorite musical group?  Jill has eclectic musical tastes though she really enjoys listening to Laura Story, a contemporary Christian artist.

Hobbies?  Singing, playing guitar, writing and reading

Interesting fact about you?  Jill is preparing to publish a book… stay tuned for more.
