City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on May 03, 2015 from City Faces

Bridgeport has a strong sense of family and community.  The Courtney family is active in Bridgeport and beyond.  Please take a moment to meet my friend Toma Courtney.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Six years

Where are you originally from? Toma grew up in St. Albans.  She is a 1994 graduate of St. Albans High School and 1999 graduate of Fairmont State University with a B.S. in Chemistry.

Are you married? Yes, to Chris Courtney.  They were married in 1999 at Via Veneto.  Chris is a 1993 Fairmont Senior High School graduate, 1999 Fairmont State University and 2003 graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Children? Addison, 13, is a 7th grader at BMS and wrestles.  Gracie, 11, is in 5th grade at Simpson Elementary and plays soccer.

What is your favorite color? Gray

Favorite Bridgeport spot? At home with her family

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Lake Sherwood in Greenbrier County is her favorite place.  She loves the peaceful environment.  One can go off the grid at the lake and truly relax.

Favorite place outside of WV? Amelia Island, Florida because it’s family oriented and has a laid back atmosphere.

Favorite restaurant?  Her mother-in-law’s kitchen

Best childhood memory? Camping and fishing at Lake Sherwood with her family.

Favorite musical group?  She listens to country music.

Pets? The Courtneys have two Great Danes named Stryker and Landry.

Hobbies? Cross Fit and family

Interesting fact about you?  She loves to camp.
