City Faces in Different Places

Please take a moment to meet this week's City Face, Jason Parrish.
 
How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Jason and his family moved to Bridgeport in June 2012 though he lived in Harrison County since 2005.
 
Where are you originally from? Fairview, West Virginia – Jason is a 1992 Clay-Battelle High School graduate, 1997 WVU graduate with a degree in Broadcasting and 2000 graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in Meteorology. 
 
Are you married? Yes, to Nicki Paugh Parrish.  Nicki is a 1988 Liberty High School graduate.  She earned her Psychology degree from Fairmont State University and her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from WVU.   She has a blog, http://www.sweetparrishplace.com, that showcases her creativity. Jason and Nicki were married in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico in 2006.
 
Children? Yes, three children – Delaney, 19, is a sophomore at WVU majoring in Fashion Merchandising.  Coleton, 15, is a sophomore at BHS.  He is on the BHS Cross Country team. Gavin, 7, is in second grade at Johnson Elementary.  He is in the Chanticleer Children’s Choir.
 
What is your favorite color? Blue
 
Where do you work? Jason is a sales representative for Takeda Pharmaceuticals.  He also is a freelance meteorologist for WBOY.
 
Favorite Bridgeport spot? The Bridgeport City Pool and City Park are two of his family’s favorites.  They enjoy being outside and visiting with friends.
 
Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Morgantown
 
Favorite place outside of WV? Tokyo, Japan is his favorite place outside of the United States.  Destin, Florida is one of his favorites in the lower 49.  Their family enjoys traveling each summer and exploring new places.  They rotate city and beach trips every other year.
 
Favorite restaurant? Sushi is his favorite at Ru San’s Sushi in Atlanta.
 
Best childhood memory?  Growing up in the woods was meaningful to Jason.  He appreciated the tranquility of being in the country.
 
Favorite musical group? Huey Lewis and the News and the Goo Goo Dolls are two of his favorites groups, though he listens to all genres.
 
Hobbies? Cross fit, running and outdoor activities
 
Interesting fact about you?  Jason has lived in many places due to his job as a meteorologist.  He’s lived in Wyoming, Wisconsin, Alabama and Georgia when he worked for the Weather Channel.
