City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on January 03, 2016 from City Faces

Please take a moment to meet this week’s City Face Jill Rice:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Since July 2012

Where are you originally from?  Jill is from Marietta, Ohio.  She moved to Charleston in 1997 and resided there until 2012.  Jill obtained her degree in political science from University of Kentucky in 1994 and her law degree from WVU in 1997.

Are you married?  Yes, to Clayton Rice – they were married at the Pete Dye Golf Club in July of 2012.  Clayton is a 1983 BHS graduate and later graduated from WVU.  He is the president and owner of Ryan Environmental.

Children? Jill has three children.  Her step-son Alex, 20, is a junior at WVU studying petroleum engineering; step-daughter Paige, 17, is a senior at BHS and Adam Bentz, 15, is a sophomore at BHS.

What is your favorite color? Blue

Where do you work? Jill is an attorney for Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP

Favorite Bridgeport spot? Jill has several favorites in Bridgeport. Bridgeport reminds her of Marietta (her hometown).  She loves Wayne Jamison Field on a Friday night, the Bridgeport Homecoming parade, City Park and her home.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? The Greenbrier for its grandeur and beauty is her favorite.   Clayton proposed to her at the Greenbrier too; therefore, it holds special memories.

Favorite place outside of WV? Her family vacationed frequently in Hilton Head Island.  She appreciates the memories and loves the beach.

Favorite restaurant? Provence Market and Meagher’s Irish Pub

Favorite music? New country

Favorite childhood memory? Jill treasurers having grown up in a town where everyone played outside and walked where they needed to go with friends.  They walked to school, to each other's houses, the arcade, etc.

Pets? Dog named Piper and a cat named Trixie

Hobbies? Cheering on her children in their activities, golf and politics

Interesting fact about you? Jill was a lifeguard at a water park in Disney World for a few summers during college.
