City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on February 07, 2016 from City Faces

Please take a moment to meet this week’s City Face Amanda Romano.  I have to add that it felt like kismet that I bumped into Amanda at the Bridgeport Family Pharmacy.  Both of us were there to pick up fundraiser superhero shirts for Jack Rollins.  As fate would have it, it was Amanda’s birthday as well.  She feels very fortunate to share her birthday with a hometown superhero.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Twelve years

Where are you originally from?  Amanda is from Clarksburg.  She is 1997 RCB graduate.  In 2001 she obtained her degree in nutrition from WVU.

Are you married? Yes, to Robert Romano.  They were married at Immaculate Conception in 2002.  Robert is a 1986 Notre Dame High School graduate.  He obtained his undergrad degree from WVU and his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg.

Children? Amanda and Robert have two children.  Amelia, 8, attends St. Mary’s Elementary School.  She enjoys swimming and soccer.  They also have three year-old Anthony.

What is your favorite color? Black

Where do you work? Amanda is a sales representative for Boehringer Ingeheim.

Favorite Bridgeport spot? Her home because it’s the center of family, it’s where she builds memories and gathers with her family and friends.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Morgantown is her favorite spot outside of Bridgeport.  She has fond memories of going to college, she enjoys cheering on the Mountaineers and appreciates its recent growth.

Favorite place outside of WV?  The sunshine state, Florida is where Amanda enjoys getting away to for vacation.  She has family in Cocoa Beach and she appreciates the welcoming community spirit, the good food and sunshine.

Favorite restaurant?  Robert and Amanda were engaged at Julios so it’s her first pick.  She appreciates living in Harrison County where she feels she can have the best Italian food in the world at many different restaurants.

Best childhood memory? Amanda grew up on King Street in Clarksburg.  Many families on the street used to take vacations together to Deep Creek Lake and Myrtle Beach.

Favorite musical group?   She enjoys many different genres of music.

Pets? None

Hobbies? Running her children to activities, yoga and anything she can do to keep active and exercise.

Interesting fact about you?  Amanda played the role of Annie when she was in the fifth grade in a theater production of Annie at the Robinson Grand Theater.  The director of the show was Greg Brown.
