City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on April 10, 2016 from City Faces

Please take a moment to meet this week’s City Face Vicki Angotti:

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Seventeen years

Where are you originally from?  Vicki was born in Ashland, Kentucky and raised in Pike County.

Are you married? Yes, to John Angotti.  He is a 1979 graduate of Notre Dame High School.  They were married in 1988 in Lexington, Kentucky.  John was doing his medical internship and residency at the University of Kentucky.  Vicki was working as a recruiter for an historical NIH cholesterol study. John is the co-owner and physician for Premier Medical.  He’s been in practice for 27 years.

Children? Yes, a daughter Marina.  Marina, 22, is a 2012 BHS graduate. She currently is a student at Shepherd University studying Graphic Design.  Marina won a statewide art contest as a middle school student for the WV Holocaust Museum.  She was also a juried Tamarack jewelry artisan at the age of sixteen (Tamarack's youngest juried artist).

What is your favorite color? Copper

Where do you work? Vicki is a jewelry artist and has her own design studio, Vittoria and Banks.

Favorite Bridgeport spot? The gazebo at Lion’s Point by Deegan Lake is her favorite place in Bridgeport.  She loves to take a book and read on a pretty day.  It’s a peaceful spot to connect with nature.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport?  Vicki likes Morgantown because of the great variety of restaurants.

Favorite place outside of WV? Her heart belongs in her home state of Kentucky.  She loves the open and friendly people.  Many of the older customs and manners are still in existence in her hometown that you don’t see as much in the world today.

Favorite restaurant?  She said it’s too hard to select one, however several of her favorites are Mother of India and Chaang’s Thai in Morgantown and Minards in Clarksburg.

Best childhood memory?  She grew up in a very small town in eastern Kentucky.  She loves the time she grew up in when you could run the streets, climb in the mountains and play in the creek.  The town would all sleigh ride together in snow storms and high school football games were huge.  She cherishes those small town relationships and memories.

Favorite musical group? Old school rock and roll… groups like Journey, Foreigner

Pets? An eighteen year-old Tonkinese cat named Rajah and a house bunny named BunBun.

Hobbies? Vicki is a foodie… she loves trying new recipes, foods and restaurants and she also loves live music.  One of her favorite pastimes is to have nibbles and wine with friends.

Interesting fact about you?  A friend encouraged Vicki to enter an online contest that the WV Living Magazine sponsored.  The contest asked subscribers to vote on their favorite Tamarack artist.  Vicki won the contest and was featured in the magazine.  A piece that was made out of recycled things was showcased in the article and a producer living in Georgia saw the article.  The producer requested that Vicki provide her jewelry for the VIP bags for the Emmys in 2012 in Beverly Hills, California.  Vicki and her daughter Marina made the trip to Beverly Hills and had a great adventure with the stars.
