City Faces in Different Places

By Michelle Duez on June 12, 2016 from City Faces

Please take a moment to meet this week’s City Face Chris Drake, sponsored by Higinbotham and Higinbotham.

How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Chris has lived in Bridgeport for thirty-five years.  He’s a 1994 BHS graduate.  He attended Fairmont State University.

Where are you originally from? Chris is originally from Letart, West Virginia in the southern part of the state.

Are you married? Yes, to Kerri Kight Drake.  They were high school sweethearts and have been together for 23 years and married for 19 years. She is 1995 BHS graduate.  Kerri is a recruiter for Antero Resources and an independent salesperson for Thrive.

Children? Chris and Kerri have three children.  Sam, 14, will be freshman at BHS.  He plays football and lacrosse.  Kaylin, 12, will be in 7th grade at BMS.  She plays volleyball.  Ty, 11, will be in 6th grade at BMS.  He plays football and lacrosse.

What is your favorite color? Red

Where do you work? Chris is a realtor for KRB.  He is also the owner and operator of Peak Contracting, LLC.

Favorite Bridgeport spot? Wayne Jamison Field – Chris really enjoys the time spent with his children at the field.

Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Bear Haven in Elkins is a favorite place for the family to go camping and fishing.

Favorite place outside of WV? Relaxing with family and so many things to do are reasons why Chris likes to go to Myrtle Beach.

Favorite restaurant? Mia Margherita and his favorite dish is the garden ensalada salad.

Best childhood memory? Chris always enjoyed the last day of school.  Going to the pool was a tradition for Chris and his friends.

Favorite musical group? Van Halen

Pets? The family has several pets – a Yorkie named Stella, a Coonhound Beagle Pointer named Willie and three rabbits named Ruby, Rainy and Roscoe.

Hobbies? Playing the guitar and working out

Interesting fact about you?  Chris chose his career path in the Mechanical/Electrical field because of his grandfather, whom he called Pa.  They were always together or on the phone talking for hours...The stories went back and forth for hours and he always looked to him for advice. Chris is very much like his Pa and is a leader.  He has a very strong and reliable work ethic and he is a wonderful husband and dad. He puts his faith in God with everything he does and he never gives up, according to his wife Kerri.

He was recently laid off as a landman in the oil and gas industry and loved the interaction that he had with the landowners and decided to become a realtor.  He also decided to put his certifications (electrical, HVAC, pool operator and computer integrated manufacturing) to good use and became a home inspector as well as start his own construction company.
