City Faces in Different Places

Please take a moment to meet this week's City Face Anna Matheny, sponsored by Higinbotham & Higinbotham, PLLC:
How long have you lived in Bridgeport? Anna moved here in 2003 from Martinsburg, West Virginia. She graduated from Hampshire High School and Shepherd University. 
Where are you originally from? She spent most of her childhood with her grandparents in Romney, WV.
Are you married? Yes, to Jason Matheny. They were married at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Stonewood in 2005. Jason moved to Bridgeport from Daytona Beach, Florida, where he attended the University of Central Florida.
Children? Anna and Jason have three children, Jax (10), Lily (7) and Victoria (3). Jax is in fourth grade at Simpson Elementary. He plays soccer and the violin, and is active in Cub Scouts and the Tech Team. Lily is in second grade at Simpson, and is a peewee cheerleader who enjoys Girl Scouts and tumbling. Both kids also love swimming and horseback riding lessons. Tori loves to go to dance class.
What is your favorite color? Soothing blues
Where do you work? Anna went from being a stay at home mom to opening First Impressions Housekeeping in June of this year, because she thought it was a service that was lacking in the area.
Favorite Bridgeport spot? She especially loves Halloween in her neighborhood, Briarwood, because all of the families are out together having fun. The kids love spending summers at the pool and volunteering at the Humane Society.
Favorite WV spot outside of Bridgeport? Anna and Jason enjoy taking their kids to shows and events in Morgantown and Charleston.
Favorite place outside of WV? The family loves traveling to Florida for trips to Daytona Beach and Disney World.
Favorite restaurant? While there are many restaurants that the family loves and it’s hard to narrow down, Anna’s favorites are probably the Wonder Bar and Provence Market because of so many fun times spent there with friends.
Best childhood memory? Anna grew up with her grandparents and remembers them taking her and her cousin Robbie Shaw on trips together. Her very first roller coaster ride was with her grandmother.
Favorite musical group? She listens to hip-hop and rock music, but family dance parties always revolve around Kidz Bop.
Pets? The family was just completed with two rescue Chihuahuas, Cocoa Puff and Gingersnap. They are 2 months old and are half-sisters.
Hobbies? Reading, shopping, volunteering with the GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club
Interesting fact about you? Anna spent several summers backpacking through Europe with friends and had many interesting experiences along the way.
