Connect-Bridgeport's 2025 Top Sports Stories: #6

By Jeff Toquinto on December 31, 2025

Editor's Note:  The first and only tie. First, Bridgeport's return to the Class AAA state cheerleading competition nearly ended with a state championship. Unfortunately, Brooke had too much on the entire field. Still, the Indians under Coach Natalie Hathaway managed to finish as the runner-up. This story, by Jeff Toquinto, ran Nov. 19 on Connect-Bridgeport. Second, Bridgeport's boys cross country team was projected to finish fourth based on times over the course of the year. Although they could not overcome a dominant Elkins squad, the Indians did manage to finish as the Class AAA runner-up. Note that the hits on both stories were the same at the time of the posting, which has only happened one other time.
