It’s spooky season at Bridgeport Public Library, and we are making the best of it with several fun events— the first of which is our biggest event of the year, Trunk or Teat! Join us on Saturday, October 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and be sure to wear your costume.
We have a dozen organizations setting up trunks and passing out treats. Paint Misbehavin’ is returning for the second year in a row, so be sure to stop by to get your face painted. Plus, we have a new special guest this year. Bunnicula, the vampire bunny from the James Howe book series, will be making an appearance in our haunted garden.
Our Trunk or Treat is a free event for all ages. We will be set up in the library’s back parking lot, but in the event of bad weather, we will move the festivities inside the library. If you can’t make it to our Trunk or Treat, be sure to keep an eye out for us at the Trunk or Treat at the Meadowbrook Mall on Thursday, October 16 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. We will be there passing out treats in our outreach van.We hope to see you there!
On Saturday, October 18 from 12-2 p.m., we will be at the Gaston Caperton Center (501 W Main St., Clarksburg) for the Healthy Harvest Bash. We are collaborating with the Harrison County Family Resource Network to provide a healthy spin on the fall holidays for all ages. Wear your costume and stop by for fall fun. We will have raffle baskets, children’s activities, a special seed giveaway, a mini farmer’s market, and more!
For the adults, we are hosting a Halloween Jeopardy Night on Wednesday, October 29 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in our Event Space. Put your knowledge to the test in this evening of classic trivia, inspired by the iconic game show format. Costumes are encouraged! Teams limited to 3 people, maximum of 4 teams. The winning team will receive Halloween themed prizes. All participants will receive a magnetic bookmark, stickers, and candy. In addition to this, the winning team members will receive a Halloween-themed tote bag, embroidery kit, and drinking glass w/ a wooden lid and glass straw and a voucher for a free book from the book sale. Registration is required HEREon our website.
Finally, we will be open during Trick or Treat on Thursday, October 30. We will be passing out candy and glowsticks at the Help Desk, so be sure to add us to your route! We hope everyone has a safe, fun October, and we look forward to being a part of the fun.
