Off the Shelf: Utilizing Bridgeport Library's eResources

If you have never used the library’s eResources, you should start now! We offer approximately 45 eResources, all free with a Bridgeport Public Library card. We cover a wide range of subject areas including business, education, history, health, language, science and coding, research and reference, and more.
We offer many practical eResources useful for everyday life such as Chilton Library which provides access to repair, maintenance and service information on the most popular cars, trucks, vans and SUVs, LawDepot where you can receive unlimited access to thousands of legal forms across all categories, including real estate, business, human resources, and more, and Consumer Health Complete which provides content covering all key areas of health and wellness, from mainstream medicine to the many perspectives of complementary and holistic medicine. We also have an extensive list of eResources for children. If you listen to audiobooks or read eBooks on Libby or Hoopla, you are utilizing two of our most popular eResources and may not even realize it!
When choosing new eResources to subscribe to, we listen to our patrons and try to best meet their needs. A good example of this is our three newest eResources, Transparent Language, Miss Humblebee’s Academy, and Udemy. These three eResources were added within the last few weeks and are ready for patrons to enjoy!
Transparent Language offers over 110 languages, including English as a Second Language (ESL) and American Sign Language (ASL.) You can focus on a specific skill with interactive learning activities. It includes KidSpeak for children using the immersion approach of cartoon friends. KidSpeak languages include Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. A mobile app is available for Android and Apple devices.
Miss Humblebee's Academy offers guided lessons for ages 3-6 using videos, music, eBooks, hands-on activities, and more. You can view weekly progress and performance reports to track improvement toward kindergarten readiness.
Udemy offers over 19,000 video-based courses in business, technology, software, and personal development. Learn how to code, prep for IT certifications, sharpen leadership skills, produce a podcast, increase office productivity, tap into creativity, learn a language (including ASL), practice yoga, and more. This eResource is presented by Gale.
