Structure Fire Destroys Home, Sees Firefighter Injured

An area structure fire that destroyed a home Monday evening also saw a firefighter hurt while battling the blaze.
According to a social media post by the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department, a firefighter suffered a leg injury while battling the blaze. The

Kingwood VFD (Company 5) responded to the call on Crane Avenue in Terra Alta. The call came in at 10:56 p.m.
The group was called to assist the Terra Alta Volunteer Fire Department. While TAVFD worked on the first floor, Kingwood worked on the blaze on the second floor of the large structure.
Several other agencies responded. Along with those mentioned, Oakland (Md.) and Aurora were on the scene.
The scene of the fire was active for roughly two and a half hours.
