WVU Point Guard Kerr Kriisa Enters Transfer Portal

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on April 02, 2024

According to Jeff Goodman, a basketball analyst at Goodman Hoops, West Virginia University point guard Kerr Kriisa has entered the transfer portal.

Kriisa arrived in Morgantown last year as one of the most highly touted players available in the country through the portal. Prior to playing at WVU, Kriisa was a dominant player for Arizona.

Things, as most know did not pan out well for West Virginia this past year. Kriisa averaged 11 points per game for the Mountaineers while shooting 43 percent from long range. He also averaged 4.7 assists per game.

Kriisa still has the option to return to WVU, which can only happen if the Mountaineers would welcome him back. The status of Kriisa would be left to new head coach Darian DeVries, who arrived from Drake.

DeVries took over from interim coach Josh Eilert. Eilert was given the interim tag after Bob Huggins resigned following a pair of incidents that athletic department eventually could not overlook, the last of which involved a DUI in Pittsburgh.

There are also reports that shooting guard Seth Wilson has also entered the portal.
