Local United Way Names Trio of Local Individuals, Kim Drummond, Matt and Elayna Jenkins, to Key Roles

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on October 18, 2024

The United Way of Harrison & Doddridge Counties is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Drummond as the new Fundraising and Community Development Coordinator. With a strong background in event coordination and marketing, Drummond brings a wealth of experience to her new role.

As Fundraising & Community Development Coordinator, Kim will be responsible for spearheading fundraising initiatives, organizing and marketing events, and building partnerships that support the United Way’s mission to improve lives and strengthen communities.
"This opportunity allows me to combine my passion for community development with my expertise in events and fundraising," said Drummond. “I look forward to working with the team and our community partners to create impactful programs and events that make a difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Drummond previously served as an event and marketing coordinator at the Harrison Chamber where she cultivated relationships with business owners and executives.

"I believe that building strong relationships is key to successful fundraising efforts," said Paul McInturff, President of UWHDC. "Kim's background and network will be invaluable as we embark on our new campaign."

In addition to welcoming Kim Drummond, UWHDC is also excited to announce that Matt and Elayna Jenkins will serve as the Leadership Division Chairs for this year’s campaign. The Leadership Division is a crucial part of United Way, focusing on engaging and developing local leaders to drive community impact. The Leadership Division encourages societal and business leaders to give, advocate, and volunteer with United Way on a local, national, regional, or worldwide level.

“We are thrilled to kick off this year’s campaign with Matt and Elayna Jenkins serving as our Leadership Chairs and are confident that, with the support of our generous community, we can reach our goal of $780,000,” said McInturff. “Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant impact on the lives of our neighbors in need.”

The campaign will feature a series of events and activities designed to engage and inspire the community, including volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns. Every dollar donated to the campaign goes directly to one of UWHDC’s 18 local partner organizations, ensuring that contributions have a meaningful impact on our community.

United Way invites local businesses, organizations, and individuals to join the effort and make a difference. To learn more about the campaign and how you can get involved, visit UnitedWayHDC.org or contact Kim Drummond at 304-624-6337 or by email at kdrummond@unitedwayhdc.org.

Impact of Previous Campaigns:

• Health: United Way funding has helped 4,500 residents in Harrison and Doddridge Counties gain access to primary health care services.
• Housing: Over the past 14 months, 71 homeless residents have been housed through United Way-supported programs.
• Youth Services: 1,300 children have benefited from services funded by United Way, enhancing their educational and developmental outcomes.
