Time Travel: Bridgeport's 1998 State Champion Cheer Squad and 1962 Downtown Clarksburg J.C. Penney

The Bridgeport High School Cheer program is one of the best in the state and has been for decades. This photo shows the squad celebrating after winning the Class AA state title in 1998 on Dec 12 on the floor of the Charleston Civic Center.
Most know JCPenney for its location at the Meadowbrook Mall going back decades. At one time, it was spelled J.C. Penney Co., and it was located in downtown Clarksburg. Several large retailers called the city's Main Street home for years. This photo is from 1962 and was taken by Bob Nichols.
