Aimee Comer Appointed to Post of Executive Director for The Clarksburg Visitors Bureau by CVB Board

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on April 19, 2024

The Clarksburg Visitors Bureau (CVB) proudly announces the appointment of Aimee J Comer as its new Executive Director, effective April 17, 2024.

With an extensive background in marketing and passion for promoting her hometown, Comer brings a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives to this pivotal role. As the premier destination marketing organization for Clarksburg, the CVB plays a crucial role in driving economic growth and enhancing the visitor experience in our city. With Comer at the helm, the Bureau is poised to embark on an exciting new chapter of innovation and collaboration.

Comer joins the Clarksburg Visitors Bureau with over 15 years of experience in marketing and public relations. She received her undergraduate degree from Fairmont State University in Business Administration Marketing and went on to obtain a Master of Science in Marketing from John Hopkins University Carey Business School. She previously served as the Fundraising and Community Development Director at United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties and was a Contracted Political Public Relations/Marketing Consultant.

Comer started her career in marketing as a Marketing Consultant at WV Radio Corporation where she focused on local, small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Her proven track record of strategic planning, community engagement, and fostering partnerships positions her as an ideal leader to guide the Clarksburg Visitors Bureau into a prosperous future.

“Aimee brings a high energy, positive viewpoint to this position,” says Lisa Sutton, President of the CVB Board of Directors. “Our board consists of Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Professionals. We feel very fortunate that we can utilize her marketing expertise to promote the attractions and activities of Clarksburg.”

In her new role, Comer will spearhead initiatives to attract visitors, conventions, and events to Clarksburg, while also enhancing the visitor experience through innovative marketing campaigns and community partnerships. Her strategic vision and commitment to excellence will undoubtedly elevate Clarksburg as a premier destination for travelers near and far.

"I am honored to join the Clarksburg Visitors Bureau and to have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and prosperity of my hometown," said Comer. "I look forward to collaborating with stakeholders, businesses, and residents to showcase the unique attractions and hospitality that make Clarksburg a must-visit destination."

The Clarksburg Visitors Bureau is grateful for the leadership and dedication of Kim Drummond who served as Interim Executive Director from February through April. Drummond has been essential in navigating the organization through this period of transition and maintaining progress in key initiatives.

“I would like to personally thank Kim Drummond for serving as the Interim Executive Director. During her time in that role, she ensured continued success for the organization,” Comer said. “I look forward to working with her on future projects as she is certainly an asset to our community.”
