City's Newest Restaurant - Mia Margherita - Slated to Open Mid-August at Charles Pointe

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on June 06, 2013

CP Hospitality, LLC a West Virginia based company will open Mia Margherita, a single unit restaurant serving delicious, healthy and authentic Italian/ American foods prepared in a coal fired oven. The restaurant will be located in Charles Pointe Commons and is scheduled to open in mid-August.

Mia Margherita offers a moderately priced menu featuring house specialty Neopolitan Style pizzas baked in a unique coal fired pizza oven. This style of cooking is the original way pizzas were cooked at Lombardi’s, the first registered American pizzeria in New York City. Lombardi’s opened in 1905 and still operates today. Cooking with coal produces a much more intense heat to give a great texture and finish to the pizza.

“The use of a coal fired pizzeria oven offers great flavor and honors the rich culture of our region in two ways.  The Bridgeport area is well-known for it’s Italian heritage and obviously, West Virginia is synonymous with the coal industry,” said Managing Director, Scott Duarte.

Mia Margherita will be the fifth restaurant built on exit 124, which is one of the fastest growing exits along Interstate 79 with an estimated 45,000 vehicles traveling the interstate on a daily basis. The restaurant will be situated as the end cap of the Charles Pointe Commons building with a visible outdoor patio. There will be a separate pick up location with dedicated parking spaces for take out.

In addition to pizza, Mia Margherita will feature locally-grown foods, salads, sandwiches, pastas, an extensive wine list and local ales.  The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
