Honoring Derek Hotsinpiller, K9 Advocates Presents Harrison County Sheriff's Department Canines with Life-Saving Vests

In late-March, K9 Advocates presented two Harrison County Sheriff’s Department canines with top-of-the-line K9 storm vests and leashes, valued at $6,000 each.
Filou and Max each received the custom-fitted life-saving equipment in honor of fallen law enforcement officer, Derek Hotsinpiller. The vests were embroidered to reflect that honor.
“Law enforcement in Harrison County like to stick together,” said K9 Advocates President Jon Flanagan. “They do a lot of wonderful things through the (Hotsinpiller) foundation.”
Canines are on the front lines and are often the first to enter a dangerous situation, therefore making the

The Hotsinpiller family was touched by the ceremony held March 31 at the Harrison County Sheriff's Office.
“Our family was honored to be part of the ceremony and humbled by the message K9 Advocates chose to have embroidered on the vests,” Ashley Hotsinpiller said.
On behalf of the Hotsinpiller Foundation, she thanks K9 Advocates for its hard work and dedication, and Filou and Max for keeping the community safe.
“Our prayers are with all officers – two- and four-legged, each and every day. May God keep you safe and out of harm’s way,” she said.
The 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament for K9 Advocates is scheduled for Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Clarksburg Country Club. Details will be released soon.
Throughout the month of April, the 4th Annual Little Caesars Pizza Pizza Paws campaign is underway. Stop by any participating Little Caesar location to make a donation. This year’s project is to provide 185 K9 teams with “On the Go” kits, including Cool K-9 A/C Vent System, Vario non-spill bowls, Tactipup high grade nylon tab leases and waste bags.
