Urban Deer Hunt to Continue in Bridgeport, but Some Minor Modifications as Result of COVID-19 Situation

The Bridgeport Urban Deer hunt will begin September 12, 2020 and run through December 31, 2020. 
 
Due to the Covid 19 Issues, all previous Hunters from the last 5 Years may pick up the Application forms at the Bridgeport Police Department between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday starting July 20 2020.  Urban Hunt Meetings will not be required for previous Hunters of the last 5 years.
 
Urban Deer Hunting Application and Urban Deer Hunting Landowner’s Permission Forms must be fully completed.  The Hunting application must have the applicant’s Phone Number and E-Mail.  Also, West Virginia Hunting License Number and Type with emergency contact information must be on the Application or it will not be processed for a Hunting Permit.
 
Urban Deer Hunting Tract Applications must be complete for Previous Hunting Tracts and requests for New Hunting Tracts.  New Hunting Tracts will be given a Hunting Tract Number after approved and Hunter(s) and Landowners will be contacted.  If Hunting Tract Number is not known for Previous Tracts Leave Blank and they will be identified during processing of applications.
 
Completed Application must be dropped off at the Bridgeport Police Deptartment between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Landowner permission forms and Hunting Tracts must be attached to the Hunting Application form for processing for a Hunting Permit.  Urban Deer Hunting Permits and attracted paperwork can be picked up at the Bridgeport Police Dept. between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday of the following week from drop off.  
 
All approved Hunter will be given Permission slips for the City Hunting Tracts.
 
*****Applications must be submitted by September 4th 2020, no application will be processed after this date.*****
 
The following are the dates and times for NEW applicants or any Hunters that have not participated in the last 5 Years to complete the proficiency test and to obtain an Urban Deer Hunting Permit. You will also get your permission slips signed to hunt on city property at this time. This is also the time you fill out your hunting application and turn in your signed permission slips for approved tracts of land involved in the hunt.
 
New Applicants can also pick up Application forms at the Bridgeport Police Dept. between 8 AM and 4 PM Monday thru Friday starting July 20, 2020 before attending a scheduled Meeting.
 
These are the only dates and times to get your urban hunting Permit for New Hunters.
 
Saturday, August 22, 2020– 8am-9am - Bridgeport City Hall
Tuesday, August 25, 2020 – 6pm-7pm - Bridgeport City Hall
Saturday, August 29, 2020 – 8am-9am - Bridgeport City Hall
Thursday, September 3, 2019 – 6pm- 7pm – Bridgeport City Hall
 
*** Hunting on Sundays will be permitted on the Bridgeport City Hunting Tracts and at the discretion of Private Hunting Tract Owners ***
 
Anyone with property and would like to have it considered for the urban hunt can stop and get the forms at the Police Department and fill them out and return them to the Police Department to be considered for the 2020 hunt. If you were in the hunt last year, you still need to fill out the forms for this year's hunt. They are not automatically renewed from year to year.
