WVU BOG Selects Finalists for University President

West Virginia University Board of Governors Vice-Chair and Presidential Search Committee Chair Dr. Patrice Harris submitted the following letter to the WVU community today (Jan. 31) after a special BOG meeting.
Dear West Virginia University Community,
I’m excited to share a brief update on the search for our next University President. Today, the Board of Governors held a special meeting to review a slate of top candidates to interview in person.
The finalists come from across the country and have extensive leadership experience.
It’s been a privilege to chair the search committee and see widespread interest in serving as the 27th President of WVU from such a strong pool of candidates.
We are well on our way to finding our next President who can lead with the right balance of strength and humility to manifest a positive, compelling vision for our University’s and our state’s future.
The search process remains on schedule. The Board of Governors plans to announce the next University President this spring. We look forward to welcoming that person to join our Mountaineer family soon.
As we near the end of this process, I extend a warm note of appreciation to all the faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members who participated in the Presidential Search process to date.
From attending one of the 34 statewide listening sessions or one of the Alumni Association’s virtual sessions to completing our survey or directly messaging WittKieffer, your collective feedback has helped us attract and recruit a strong lineup of the best, highest-quality candidates from across the country.
