Woman Arrested, Charged with Murder after Allegedly Stabbing Mother at Residence in Weekend Incident

A weekend stabbing incident in Harrison County has left a woman dead and the suspect that allegedly committed the crime was the daughter of the individual killed.
The call for the incident came into the Harrison-Taylor 911 office at 8:48 p.m. Saturday.
According to a press release from the Clarksburg Police Department, law enforcement arrived on the scene at Laurel Drive, which is in the Laurel Lanes development in the North View community of Clarksburg, they found 64-year-old Elaine Labenne stabbed to death. The stabbing was allegedly done by 41-year-old Shanna Marie Vannorman, who is her daughter.
Both Labenne and Vannorman lived in the same unit at the development. First responders pronounced Labenne dead at the scene of the crime.
Vannorman was charged wih murder and taken into custody. She is currently in the North Central Regional Jail in Doddridge County Sunday.
The Clarksburg Police Department, led by Chief Mark Kiddy, is investigating the case.
The Clarksburg Fire Department and the Harrison County EMS also responded to the scene.
