By Sharon Saye on September 04, 2019 from Off the Shelf

The Fall publishing season has begun.  And for readers, the selections are well worth the wait.  From the sequel to “The Handmaid’s Tale” to the latest Stephen King, you might want to keep this list.

September promises a lot of great fiction including:  “A Single Thread” by Tracy Chevalier, “Quichotte” by Salmon Rushdie, “The Institute” by Stephen King, “The Dutch House” by Ann Patchett, “Akin” by Emma Donoghue, “Everything Inside” by Edwidge Danticat, “The Beekeepers of Aleppo” by Christy Lefteri, “World That We Know” by Alice Hoffman, “Red at the Bone” by Jacqueline Woodson, “Testaments” by Margaret Atwood, “The Stranger Inside” by Lisa Unger, and “Mycroft and Sherlock” by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

October will keep readers busy with: “Cilka’s Journey” by Heather Morris, “Ninth House” by Leigh Bardugo, “Full Throttle” by Joe Hill, “Twice in a Blue Moon” by Christine Lauren, “Grand Union” by Zadie Smith, “Olive, Again” by Elizabeth Strout, “Blue Moon” by Lee Child, “Bloody Genius” by John Sandford, “Night Fire” by Michael Connelly, “Agent Running in the Field” by John le Carre, “The Man Who Saw Everything” by Deborah Levy, “The Topeka School” by Ben Lerner, “Fine Me” by Andre Aciman, “I Love You” by Mary Burton and “The Girl at the Door” by Veronica Raimo.

November and December are months loaded with titles just in time for Christmas buying:

“The Siberian Dilemma” by Martin Cruz Smith, “The Second Sleep” by Robert Harris, “Good Girls Lie” by J. T. Ellison, “The Accomplice” by Joseph Kanon, “The Starless Sea” by Erin Morgenstern, “Nothing to See Here” by Kevin Wilson, “The Book of Lost Saints” by Daniel Jose Older, “The Bromance Book Club” by Lyssa Kay Adams, “Under Occupation” by Alan Furst, “Dead Astronauts” by Jeff VanderMeer and “A Step So Grave” by Catriona McPherson.
