Off the Shelf: May Will Feature Plenty of Activities at Library for Children as Well as Adults

Things are warming up at the library as we get ready to enter the month of May.
 
We are offering over 60 programs and events for children, teens, families, and adults this May. We have a great mix of new offerings and old favorites this month and we’re sure you will find something you like if you come check us out.
 
For children, teens, and families, we have a fun month ahead. As usual, every Monday at 11 a.m. young children and their caregivers can join us for some socialization during our Juicebox Social, every Tuesday at 3pm you can find us playing chess at Chess Club, every Wednesday at noon we hold our Brilliant Beginnings Storytime, every Thursday at 3pm we hold our Little Learners Storytime, and every Thursday at 4 p.m. we have Snackchat for our teen patrons.
 
We will provide the popcorn and drinks for our Family Movie Night on May 3 at 5:30 pm. On May 4 at 11 a.m. join us for “Switch It Up” where we play games on our Nintendo Switch, then stick around for Building Club at 12:30 pm where we will bring out the Legos. Children are invited to join us on May 8 at 4 p.m. for our Tinker Cadets program where we will be creating things on our 3D printer. This program will be offered a second time later in the month.
 
On May 10 at 4 p.m., everyone is invited to our Mother’s Day tea. This event promises to be a special time with refreshments and activities provided. On May 14 at 4 p.m. teens can join us for our needle felting program “I Felt That.” On May 15 at 3 p.m. we will have our 3D Doodles program where we make fun objects with 3D pens. This program will be offered a second time later in the month. Families are welcome to join us for Family Game Night on May 16 at 5:30 pm. Teens get a game program of their very own during T.A.G. (Teen Afternoon Gaming) on May 22 at 3 p.m.
 
Adults have a lot to look forward to as well. We will offer our normal recurring programs such as Hooks & Needles, our handicraft group, every Wednesday at 11 a.m., and Philosophy Hour at 1 p.m. the first two Thursdays of the month. Beginning on May 16, we will offer our Roots & Readers program every Thursday at 11 a.m. All ages are welcome at this program.
 
On May 6 at 5:30 pm join us for our monthly painting program, Brush Hour. We will host our monthly writing group, The Write Connection, on May 7 at 5:30 pm. Our technology class, Tech Savvy, will be held twice this month, once on May 8 at 1pm and again on May 15 at 5 p.m. Join us for a movie matinee on May 10 at 1 p.m. Refreshments are provided.
 
If you enjoy making crafts we have quite the lineup coming up—on May 13 at 5 p.m. we will be needle felting, on May 17 at 3:30 pm we will be crafting with perler beads, on May 20 at 2:30 p.m. we will be holding our 2nd annual Craft Swap, later that same day at 5 p.m.we will be creating a sculptural book, on May 24 at 3:30 pm we will be cross-stitching, and on May 30 at 3:30 pm we will be crocheting. Also be sure to join us for Signing Made Easy, our ASL class on May 21 at 5 p.m. and Genealogy Roundtable on May 22 at 5 p.m.
