Drummond Delivers Final Gift to WVU Football Team as He is One of Seven Mountaineers with 4.0 GPA

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on January 21, 2020

Bridgeport High School alum Elijah Drummond recently announced he would not return for his final year of eligibility for the West Virginia University football program in order to focus on his future career. Before leaving, however, he gave the program one final boost.

Drummond, according to WVU, was one of seven Mountaineer football players to finish the fall semester with a 4.0 grade point average.

Joining Drummond with the perfect GPA for Neal Brown’s WVU squad were Reese Donahue, Jake Abbott, Casey Legg, Graeson Malashevich, Zach Sandwisch, and Jarret Doege.  The Mountaineers have 44 players above a 3.0 grade point average for the fall 2019 term.

Also, the football team saw 12 players graduate from the University in December.
