Former BHS Standout Ben McDougal Named WVU Student-Athlete of the Week

West Virginia University junior pitcher Ben McDougal has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
The Bridgeport, West Virginia native made two appearances on the mound against UCF over the weekend, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits.
On Saturday against the Knights, he threw 2.2 scoreless innings, shutting down an early UCF offensive barrage. He came back on Sunday to close out the game with 2.1 perfect innings, earning his first save in a 4-3 victory as West Virginia completed the road sweep.
McDougal and the rest of the 16th-ranked Mountaineers will be back on Wednesday in Charleston to take on Marshall. First pitch from GoMart Ballpark is set for 6 p.m.
