Photos: BHS Softball Team Goes Down Swinging in Sectional Tournament; Indians Finish Season at 12-13

The Bridgeport High School sotball team forced a deciding winner takes all game against University in the Class AAA Region I, Section 2 championship round on Monday.
 
The Indians broke a 4-all tie in the top of the 13th with three runs to pick up a 7-4 victory against the Hawks to force the second game before UHS took the sectional title with a 10-2 victory in the finale.
 
Kyleigh Anderson has two hits and scored a pair of runs in the win for the Indians, while Maci Cook had an RBI double and Rachel Mason scored two runs.
 
Chloe Pethtel pitched all 13 innings for the Tribe, scattering eight hits, surrendering just two earned runs and striking out eight UHS batters. 
 
In the deciding game, the Hawks took control with five runs in the bottom of the fourth as Kelsey Park gave up just four hits to the Indians over six innings.
 
Makenna Smith was tagged with the loss for BHS but only two of the 10 runs charged to her were earned.
