Season Ends for Indian Softball Team After Second Loss to Herbert Hoover in Class AA, Region II Action

By Julie Perine on May 15, 2019

The Lady Indians lost to Herbert Hoover in tonight’s West Virginia Class AA Region II softball showdown, ending their season and a shot at a state title.

The Tribe fell 5-1 in Wednesday night's away contest, the second in this week’s series against Herbert Hoover. Last night, the Huskies shut out the Indians 8-0. Tuesday’s game was played in Bridgeport.

Starr Pope started on the mound for the Tribe tonight with Johnna Hull coming in to relieve, allowing only one hit. Tuesday night, Hull started and Pope came in as relief pitcher. Tonight’s only run was courtesy of Paige Humble, who slammed a homerun.

Herbert Hoover goes on to states, representing Region II in Class AA action. Bridgeport ends its season with a 20-8 record.

Editor's Note: Photo, taken at Tuesday night's Region II opener, was taken by Ben Queen Photography. See more images from the home-played contest HERE.
