The Grapevine: Former BHS Teacher Jenny Santilli to Speak at Italian American Women of Distinction Event

Betty Waddy, president of the Progressive Women's Association of Harrison County has announced that Dr, Jenny Santilli will deliver the  keynote speech for the Italian American Women of Distinction luncheon that will be held on Friday, Oct. 18 at noon The Uptown Event Center in Clarksburg. 
 
The luncheon will honor ten Italian American Women for their volunteer efforts in our community.  This event is held yearly to observe October as Italian Culture month.
 
Dr. Santilli is a Harrison County resident who has taught in public education for43 years including two years overseas.  She has been a Spanish teacher at Bridgeport High School, South Harrison High School, and Buckhannon Upshur High School. She has served as an adjunct professor since 2018 at Fairmont State University.
 
She is a graduate of West Virginia University, Marshall University, and West Liberty University.  She was recently elected to serve on the Harrison County Board of Education.
 
Santilli will speak to the honorees of the importance volunteerism makes in a community. This event is open to the public, but reservations must be made by Oct. 15 due to limited seating. For information or reservations call 304-624-6881.
