GFWC Bridgeport Juniors NURU Bucket Walk

Imagine if you didn’t know when you would be able to take your next drink of water. What if the nearest water source was miles away, and the only way you could get there was by foot. On Saturday, September 10th 2017, the GFWC Bridgeport Junior Woman’s Club will be holding our 5th Annual Walk for Water Bucket Walk to support NURU International at the Benedum Civic Center, 164 W. Main Street, Bridgeport. This will be held purposefully close to 9/11 to give our community a chance to uplift one another with global impact.

NURU International is a non-profit organization, founded by a native West Virginian, Jake Harriman, with a mission to end extreme poverty, which is defined as living on less than $300 per year.

In an effort to raise awareness of and provide financial support to NURU, the Juniors will be holding a Bucket Walk. This walk will provide people the opportunity to raise awareness for the women and children around the world who spend their days walking miles to collect water, which is usually not even clean, to provide for their families. Walkers will carry their 5 gallon bucket from the Benedum Center (where registration will be held), filled with as much water as they wish, and walk the sidewalks to the Chiropractor Care Center and back.

With the help of registered walkers as well as corporate sponsors, the GFWC Bridgeport Juniors hope to raise over $5,000 for NURU and this very important cause.
Sponsorships values are as follows:
• $250 - $499 – Shower (name on all flyers & at registration table)
• $500 -$749– Downpour (Above level PLUS signage promoting the sponsors along the walk route down Main Street in Bridgeport)
• $750 + - Monsoon (Above levels PLUS live videos on social media at the donor's location (if local) explaining what they are supporting and information about their business. This will be shared by many of the club members to give these live videos a wider viewing audience.
We’re asking that you please consider sponsoring and attending this important walk to help provide for clean, easily accessible drinking water for so many while working with Nuru International to end of extreme poverty. NURU International is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and therefore donations are tax deductible. Donations may be made by check, payable to NURU International or online https://give.nuruinternational.org/2017WalkforWater. Additionally, individuals may register to join us in the walk and carry a bucket by going to Raceroster.com and searching for Walk for Water. Sincerely,
