Today, half the world lives on less than $2 a day. It is estimated that each year, Americans spend $900 billion on Christmas. That statistic inspires us to shop differently, and we invite you to join us. This year, you can make purchases that are purposeful; purchases that can lift people out of poverty by providing them with opportunity.
On Saturday, November 9th, Clarksburg Baptist Church will be hosting our 15th annual World Market. You will have the opportunity to purchase items such as jewelry, home goods, coffee, vanilla, children's items, candles, purses, Christmas decorations, etc. from countries like Uganda, Haiti, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Thailand, US, etc.
Proceeds benefit the organizations to provide sustainable incomes for people living in poverty around the world. Over the last 14 events, we’ve been able to send back over $300,000 to our partnered organizations.
Each featured organization has a story. Whether it be rescuing and restoring women from sex trafficking, or working to alleviate poverty through Fair Trade, or providing education and teaching a skill to mothers so they can provide for their families; your purchases are impactful. Your purchases have purpose. Your purchases empower.
